Pitcher - Cleveland-N.Y. Yankees1942-1954
Nicknamed "Superchief," Reynolds was a member of the Creek Nation and had a strong athletic background. He attended Oklahoma Agricultural & Mechanical College (now Oklahoma State University), where he excelled in multiple sports, including football and track. His baseball talent was discovered while he was practicing javelin throws.
During his time with the Yankees, Reynolds became a key part of their championship success, winning six World Series titles (1947, 1949–1953). He was a six-time All-Star and led the American League in ERA in 1952. He also pitched two no-hitters in 1951, a rare feat.
Despite his impressive career, Reynolds has not been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, though he has received consideration over the years.
