Sandy Koufax played in Major League Baseball from 1955 to 1966, spending his entire career with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972, becoming the youngest player ever elected at age 36. Koufax was known for his dominant pitching, winning three Cy Young Awards and leading the league in ERA for five consecutive seasons (1962–1966). His career was cut short due to chronic elbow pain, but he remains one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history.

Don Larsen was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played from 1953 to 1967 for several teams, including the St. Louis Browns/Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics, Chicago White Sox, San Francisco Giants, Houston Colt .45s/Astros, and Chicago Cubs. He is best known for pitching the only perfect game in World Series history, which he accomplished in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series while playing for the Yankees. This historic feat earned him the World Series MVP and Babe Ruth Award. Larsen had a career win-loss record of 81–91, an ERA of 3.78, and 849 strikeouts over 1,548 innings. He passed away on January 1, 2020
