Buck Leonard was one of the greatest hitters in Negro League history. He played in the Negro Leagues from 1933 to 1950, spending nearly his entire career with the Homestead Grays (1934–1950). He briefly played for the Brooklyn Royal Giants in 1933. Leonard was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972, alongside his longtime teammate Josh Gibson. His career was marked by incredible consistency, earning multiple batting titles and playing a key role in the Grays' dominance during the 1930s and 1940s.
