Leon Day was a pitcher in the Negro Leagues from 1934 to 19502. He played for several teams, including the Baltimore Black Sox (1934), Brooklyn Eagles (1935), Newark Eagles (1936–1939, 1941–1943, 1946), and Baltimore Elite Giants (1949–1950)2. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995, just days before his passing. Day was known for his no wind-up delivery, high-speed fastball, and versatility, often playing second base or center field when not pitching. He set strikeout records in the Negro National League, Puerto Rican League, and East-West All-Star Game. His best season came in 1937, when he finished with a perfect 13–0 record
