Shortstop - N.Y.Yankees1957-1965
Tony Kubek was a shortstop who played his entire Major League Baseball career with the New York Yankees from 1957 to 1965. He was a four-time All-Star (1958, 1959, 1961) and won three World Series titles (1958, 1961, 1962). Kubek was also named American League Rookie of the Year in 1957. Over his career, he played 1,092 games, batting .266 with 57 home runs and 373 RBIs. He was known for his strong defensive skills and formed a solid double-play combination with second baseman Bobby Richardson. After retiring due to a back injury, Kubek became a television broadcaster, covering 12 World Series between 1968 and 1982. He received the Ford C. Frick Award in 2009 for his contributions to baseball broadcasting
