Joe Nuxhall was a left-handed pitcher best known for his time with the Cincinnati Reds. He made history as the youngest player ever to appear in a Major League Baseball game, debuting at just 15 years old on June 10, 1944. His career spanned 16 seasons, with a 135–117 win-loss record and a 3.90 ERA. He was a two-time All-Star in 1955 and 1956.
After retiring as a player, Nuxhall became a beloved radio broadcaster for the Reds, holding that role for nearly 40 years. His signature sign-off—"This is the 'ol left-hander' rounding third and heading for home, so long everybody."—became iconic
